Prishita Vora is the Operations Executive for EI. She is not only responsible for addressing concerns of all applicants before they touch ground in their respective placement destinations, but ascertaining that their elective period goes smoothly and is fruitful. She has a degree from Loma Linda University, CA in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and is now pursuing a degree in Health Administration. Prior to joining EI she worked for 2 years with Bomu Hospital, a non-profit hospital in Mombasa which addresses the dire lack of accessible and affordable health care for the poor. She aspires to open several such not for profit health facilities across developing countries and also plays a crucial role in the altruistic arm of EI.

Therese joined EI to coordinate and provide advice to medical participants from Europe. She currently works at the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) and studied medicine at the Jagiellonian University. Being well travelled and with a special interest in infectious disease and tropical medicine as well as issues pertaining to global health equity, Therese offers in depth guidance to the enrichment of an elective experience. She also provides strategic direction to overall program management issues and serves to ensure high standards in specific program content.

Dr. Davita is Elective Internationals program manager and mentor in Indonesia. To members of our team, she is a kind doctor with strong care giving values. She ensures a fruitful experience for our Indonesia program and serves to individualize participant experiences based on aptitude levels. She has a keen interest in Healthcare Management and also in Surgery with a special inclination towards Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. She will make sure students get unforgettable medical as well as cultural experiences in this tropical developing country.

Dr. Theresia Risa Davita
Dr. James is a member of the EI advisory team in India. He is a dentist by profession and has worked with renowned organizations such as Smile Care India. He has also been involved in various dental outreach programs in India. His journey to Mombasa, Kenya saw him develop experientially in dental care in poor resource settings and rural outreach programs. Dr. James provides in depth assessment of mentorship programs and ensures an enrichment of the brief time participants have in a program.

Dr. Jaideep James
Aatika is our program advisor in Haryana, India. Aatika has done her Bachelors in Biochemistry from Punjab University, Chandigarh and further completed her masters in Forensic Science from Punjab University, Patiala. She is currently undergoing training with the mobile Forensic unit which is under the Forensic Science Laboratory, Madhuban Haryana. Her ultimate aim is to serve the society and help in improving the medical facilities in all rural communities in the country.

Is our Program Coordinator in Nepal. He lives with his wife Namrata and his 2 young sons at the Volunteer's Home. “Asim Bhai” as he likes to be called, is a warm, gentle and caring man that constructed and runs a “Happy Home” for orphaned children all over Nepal. Asim Bhai has a keen interested in uplifting the health and educational needs of children and adults all over Nepal.

Cassanne is a member of the Elective International medical advisory committee. She is a second year MBBS student at the University of Sydney who is simultaneously studying a Masters in International Health. She has a profound interest in health care in developing countries and thus has spent a lot time in India and Kenya participating in general and obstetric surgery, HIV/TB clinics, emergency department care and outreach programs. Cassanne joined the Elective International team of advisors to ensure participants get a productive experience from their time with us.

Omon is our program coordinator in Malaysia. Originally from Uzbekistan, Omon came to Malaysia in 2011 to pursue his Bachelors of Arts in Banking and Finance, which he completed with honors in November, 2015. Omon has experience in teaching English as a foreign language. He has also volunteered with The Malaysian Information Network on Disabilities, Kuala Lumpur as a Team Leader where he participated at conferences, workshops and trainings which aimed to empower people with disabilities and to improve their lives through volunteering. Omon was also a Team Leader in the Sustainable Livelihood Approaches Outreach Program where he gained experience in working with different communities and helped to empower persons with “Special Abilities”. He is passionate about establishing a multinational company with a focus on sustainability and empowerment of marginalized communities.

Smita is our program coordinator in Malaysia. She is a Kenyan who moved to Malaysia in 2002 to do her Bachelors in Chemical and Environmental Engineering. She further pursued her masters in Chemical Engineering from Nottingham University, Malaysia. She is currently taking up her PhD in Science (Enhanced Oil Recovery) with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. Smita has worked as a program leader with the Centre of Global Sustainability Studies and a Project Leader for the Sustainable Livelihood Approaches Program under Albukhary International University. She has also had experience working on projects on Education for Sustainable Development with UNESCO and UNEP. Her ultimate aim is to help countries and societies empower themselves through sustainable livelihood. Smita has a passion for environmental conservation and management, with a special focus on wastewater treatment.
